We have outgrown the sustainability of our provision and the demand of the village means we need to move.

The new bigger nursery will expand on the care we provide families in and around Lenham. Expanding our age range, hours per day and weeks per year will provide Lenham with a modern facility to support all children & family’s needs within our community.

It will be a stunning opportunity for children to develop an appreciation of sustainability, biodiversity and ecosystems around them.

What’s the plan?

It’s for the Lenham Nursery School to move to a new high-tech building which will be constructed on land leased from the Lenham Parish Council in the allotments area across the road from the School’s present site in Ham Lane. Architect Andy Ratcliffe, RIBA, has drawn the image of the building which will not only provide expanded space for the School but become an important additional venue for off-peak community meetings and events.

Sarah Siddons, the Nursery School manager, the Accounts Manager Monica Elvy, trustees, staff and volunteers are all raring to go with this positive step in both the School’s and Lenham’s history, a project that will benefit the whole community – and we will need your help in raising the necessary funds. The estimated cost of the project is £850,000. Quite a tidy sum to be raised! We are of course applying for major grants towards this sum but much of it will have to be raised locally. That means that every penny you can spare at the events we shall be putting on and the donations boxes you will be seeing will help us achieve our plans for the good of Lenham’s people, both toddlers and the wider community.
